The Owners
The owners of Sunset Valley are David, an Australian and Gudrun, from Germany. David lived and worked as an expatriate in Thailand from 1979 to 1982 with The Coca-Cola Export Corporation and later in Singapore and Malaysia with Carnation Company and Nestle from 1982 through 1987. Gudrun headed up Reuters in Kuala Lumpur from 1996 through 1999. We both individually fell in love with the people, the food, the lifestyle and the country back then.
We met in Australia in 2004 and got married in Bali in 2008 before deciding to move to Malaysia to follow our dreams. We returned by choice to Kuala Lumpur where we lived in our apartment in Mont Kiara under the ‘Malaysia My Second Home’ program.
In November 2011 we purchased Edu-Cat, a Lagoon 500 catamaran and sailed to Langkawi in December that year. We then lived on Edu-Cat until in December 2012 we acquired Sunset Valley on its 5th anniversary from the previous owners, Andre and Ria, who started building Sunset Valley in 2007.
